The Story

Once upon a time, there were three billy goats who lived on one side of a bridge. On the other side of the bridge was a lush green meadow where the grass was rich and sweet. The billy goats wanted to cross the bridge to get to the meadow, but there was a problem: under the bridge lived a big, bad troll.

The first billy goat, who was the smallest, decided to try to cross the bridge. But as soon as he stepped onto the bridge, the troll roared, "Who's that crossing my bridge?"

"It's just me, a little billy goat," said the first billy goat.

"I'm going to gobble you up," said the troll.

The first billy goat was so scared that he turned and ran back to his brothers.

The second billy goat, who was a little bigger, decided to try to cross the bridge. But as soon as he stepped onto the bridge, the troll roared, "Who's that crossing my bridge?"

"It's just me, a billy goat," said the second billy goat.

"I'm going to gobble you up," said the troll.

The second billy goat was so scared that he turned and ran back to his brothers.

The third billy goat, who was the biggest and strongest, decided to try to cross the bridge. As he stepped onto the bridge, the troll roared, "Who's that crossing my bridge?"

"I'm going to gobble you up," said the troll.

The third billy goat was not afraid. He charged at the troll and butted him with his horns. The troll was so surprised that he fell off the bridge and into the river below.

The three billy goats were finally able to cross the bridge and get to the meadow. They ate the sweet grass and played all day long.
