The Rangers are some of the most highly trained soldiers in the world, and their training is designed to prepare them for any contingency. The Rangers train for months, learning how to parachute, conduct raids, and fight in close quarters. They are also trained to operate in a variety of environments, including desert, jungle, and urban settings.

They were finally relieved by follow-on forces on March 23, 2003.
